Faith

Real faith for real life

Forget boring. Every day at Junior High Camp is designed to meet your student where they are—with high-energy worship, relevant teaching, and real talk about the stuff middle schoolers are actually dealing with. Identity. Friendships. Pressure. Purpose. Our speakers challenge students to go deeper in their relationship with God and leave with tools they can actually use when they get home.

Activities

Epic adventures and team competition

Junior High Camp is built for students who want to push their limits—and have a blast doing it. Soar down our larger-than-life ziplines, compete in team challenges that get delightfully messy, cool off in the waterpark, or test your skills at archery and the power pole. Whether your student is the first to volunteer or needs a little encouragement, there's something for everyone—and plenty of chances to surprise themselves with what they can do.

Lodging
Dining

Comfortable lodging and food that fuels the fun

After days packed with adventure, your student will crash in our comfortable, air-conditioned lodges—bunking with their small group and counselor. It's where some of the best conversations happen (usually way past lights-out, but we won't tell).

Meals are designed to keep up with hungry middle schoolers: think hearty portions, crowd-pleasing options like pizza, burgers, pasta, and plenty of fuel for the next adventure. Have dietary restrictions? Let us know during registration and we'll make it work.

Safety
Security

Safe space to grow

Middle schoolers need room to stretch—but they also need guardrails. At Allaso Ranch, our counselors are background-checked, extensively trained, and handpicked for their ability to connect with this age group. They know how to navigate the social dynamics, handle the drama (because let's be honest, there's always some), and create an environment where every student feels seen and valued. With trained staff at every activity and medical support on-site 24/7, your student can take risks, try new things, and grow—safely.

How far is Allaso Ranch from Dallas?

About two hours east of Dallas/Fort Worth, in Hawkins, Texas. It's an easy drive through the scenic pineywoods of East Texas.

Will my student be in a cabin with kids their age?

Yes! Students are grouped by grade and gender, so your middle schooler will be with peers going through the same stage of life. Each small group has a trained counselor who stays with them throughout the week.

What if my student doesn't know anyone at camp?

That's actually most of our campers! Junior High Camp is designed to help students make friends fast through team activities, small group time, and shared cabin experiences. By day two, they'll wonder why they were ever nervous.

How is Junior High Camp different from Kids Camp?

Junior High Camp is specifically designed for the middle school stage — more independence, age-appropriate challenges, and teaching that addresses the real questions 6th–8th graders are asking about identity, faith, and belonging. The activities are bigger, the conversations go deeper, and the experience is tailored for tweens and young teens.

Can I contact my student during the week?

Yes! You can send messages to your camper that will be printed and delivered to them throughout their camp experience. You can also browse camp photos and get alerted when a picture of your camper is uploaded.
