Why this week matters for your high schooler

High school moves fast. Between school, sports, jobs, and social pressure, it's hard for teens to slow down and think about what really matters. Senior High Camp creates that space—a week away from the noise where your student can wrestle with real questions, build authentic friendships, and be challenged to own their faith for themselves. Our counselors aren't just supervisors—they're mentors. Many are college students or young adults who recently navigated the same pressures your teen is facing. They're equipped to have honest conversations, model what it looks like to follow Jesus in the real world, and challenge your student to step into who God created them to be. At Allaso Ranch, your teen will be safe, challenged, and surrounded by people who genuinely care about their growth—spiritually, relationally, and personally.

Faith

Faith that's THEirs, not borrowed

High school is when faith has to become personal—or it fades. At Senior High Camp, we challenge students to stop coasting on their parents' beliefs and start owning their relationship with God. Each day is filled with powerful worship and teaching that doesn't shy away from hard questions: doubt, calling, purity, purpose, and what it actually looks like to follow Jesus when no one's watching. Our speakers are chosen for their ability to connect with high schoolers and speak truth without sugarcoating it.

Activities

Adventure at your own pace

Senior High Camp is built for students who want options. Feel the rush of our larger-than-life ziplines, float the lazy river with friends, compete in volleyball or basketball, or push yourself on the power pole and giant swing. Want to chill? Grab a kayak and hit the water. Want intensity? We've got that too.

Every activity is an opportunity—to try something new, push past comfort zones, or just have fun with people who are becoming real friends. No pressure, all adventure.

Lodging
Dining

Rest well, eat well

After full days of adventure and late nights of conversation, your teen will sleep in comfortable, air-conditioned lodges. Students bunk with their small group and counselor—and honestly, some of the best moments of the week happen in the cabin after lights-out (we allow it, within reason).

Food is designed to fuel active teenagers: hearty breakfasts, solid lunches, and dinners like pasta, pizza, and burgers. Snacks are available throughout the day, and we're happy to accommodate dietary restrictions—just let us know during registration.

Safety
Security

Freedom with the right guardrails

High schoolers want independence—and they should have it. At Allaso Ranch, we've built an environment where your teen can fully engage while you have peace of mind. Counselors are background-checked, trained, and close enough in age to connect authentically while still providing mature leadership.

With trained staff at every activity, medical support on-site 24/7, and a team that knows how to give teens appropriate space while maintaining accountability, your student can fully engage—knowing they're in a safe, supportive environment.

FAQs

What grades is senior High Camp for?

Senior High Camp is for students entering 9th through 12th grade, plus recent graduates. The programming is specifically designed for the high school stage—deeper teaching, more independence, and conversations that prepare students for life after graduation.

How far is Allaso Ranch from Dallas?

About two hours east of Dallas/Fort Worth, in Hawkins, Texas. It's an easy drive through the scenic pineywoods of East Texas.

Is this just for church kids?

Not at all. Senior High Camp welcomes students from all backgrounds—whether they've grown up in church or are just starting to explore faith. Our goal is to meet every student where they are and challenge them to take the next step.

What makes Senior High Camp different from Junior High Camp?

Senior High Camp is designed for the unique stage of high school—more independence, deeper
conversations, and teaching that addresses the real questions teens face about faith, relationships, purpose, and the future. Activities offer more choice and flexibility, and the overall environment treats students as young adults preparing for life's next chapter.

My teen is hesitant about going. Will they fit in?

We hear this all the time—and almost every student who comes in hesitant leaves saying it was one of the best weeks of their life. The combination of fun activities, authentic community, and counselors who genuinely care creates an environment where even reluctant teens find their place quickly.

Can my student bring their phone?

We encourage students to unplug for the week to fully engage in the experience. Phones are collected at check-in and returned at the end of camp. Trust us—they won't miss it, and the week is better for it.

What's the Christ-centered teaching like?

Our speakers are chosen for their ability to connect with high schoolers and challenge them spiritually. Teaching addresses real issues — identity, purpose, doubt, relationships, and calling — with honesty and depth. The goal isn't to entertain but to equip students to own their faith and live it out when they leave.
